The investigative office of the rapid-response police (KR NNI) said on police.hu on Friday that the German police contacted Hungarian authorities on the suspicion that the man may be hiding in Hungary.

KR NNI uncovered his suspected hiding place, determined that he may have been travelling on a train from Szolnok to Budapest, and the counter-terrorism unit arrested him in Nyugati railway station on May 12, the statement said.

He was placed in detention at the District VI police station and awaits a decision on his extradition to Germany, police.hu said.
