The Estonian government on Tuesday approved in principle support measures for the areas most affected by the additional coronavirus restrictions, amounting to more than EUR 5 million, according to a report by Baltic-course, citing news agency LETA/BNS.
The terms of the grants will be specified by Thursday, when the measures are planned to be approved at a government meeting, government spokespeople said. "The purpose of the subsidies to be introduced by the government is to ensure people's livelihood and continued income and to help local businesses recover as soon as possible after the coronavirus crisis," Prime Minister Jüri Ratas was quoted as saying.
