The number of employed persons fell by 3,486 to 84,841 in the period, and the number of net jobs in the Croatian economy rose by 34,306 to 1,722,892. In the same month of the last year the unemployment rate was 5.6%.
In a separate statement, the Zagreb-based agency said that Croatia's average net monthly wage totaled EUR 1,324 in May, up 13.2% year-on-year in real terms. In April, the average net monthly salary was 13.7% higher annually in real terms.
On a monthly comparison basis, the average net monthly wage in May stagnated in real terms, after it dipped 0.9% in April. The average gross monthly salary amounted to EUR 1,832 in May, up by a real 13.6% year-on-year and unchanged month-on-month.
