Bulgaria Jobless Rate Flat in September

Bulgaria's registered jobless rate remained unchanged month-on-month in September, at 5.3%, according to the country's Employment Agency. At the end of last month, there were 149,878 registered unemployed people, or 528 more than in August, the government agency said in a monthly report, cited by news portal SeeNews.

In September alone, the agency registered 22,126 jobless people, which was 3,213 more than in August and 188 fewer than in the same month of 2022.

A total of 13,260 unemployed people started work with the help of labor offices in September, up 31.2% from August.

Of them, the largest share, or 16.9%, found jobs in the manufacturing industry, whereas education followed with 14.2%.

There were 10,753 job vacancies on the primary labor market in September, compared to 11,988 a month earlier, the report added.
