Biden to take part in EU video conference

At the invitation of the President of the European Council Charles Michel, U.S. President Joe Biden will take part in the European Union video conference this week, said Barend Leyts, spokesman of the head of the European Council, according to a report by news agency PAP.
The March summit of the European Union, due to the increase in the number of coronavirus infections in the Member States, will be held in the form of an online conference.
The talks are scheduled for March 25-26. Initially, Michel wanted to organize a summit where EU leaders would meet in Brussels. However, some EU countries raised doubts, pointing out that the pandemic was ongoing and that it posed a threat to the course of the meeting.
The main topic of the EU summit will be the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Leaders are to discuss vaccine supply problems and the introduction of future vaccination certificates. The discussion is also concern with the recovery of the EU economy after the pandemic. EU-Turkey relations, issues related to industrial policy and digitization will be discussed.
