Talks on the transfer of Hungary's European Union funding are "moving forward" and the resources could become available in the summer, Regional Development Minister Tibor Navracsics said on Thursday, according to state news wire MTI.

Resources could become available after concerns over the independence of the judiciary are addressed with amendments to legislation, Navracsics said at an event organized by the Somogy County Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kaposvár.

The minister noted that the European Commission approved Hungary's operative programs before the end of last year, ensuring the country won't lose its funding.

He said the government expects EUR 1.5 billion of EU funding to arrive in 2023, EUR 2 bln in 2024, and EUR 2.8 bln in 2025.
