Gov't Establishes Strategic Advisory Body

Government

Hungary's Government Information Center has announced the establishment of a permanent body to advise the government on strategic matters, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The aim of the strategic advisory body is to support the work of the government and the prime minister with analyses and advice with a focus on the resilience of government operations to sovereignty, social, economic, security, cultural and other risks, the centre said.

The body will be headed by Balázs Orbán, the prime minister's political director. Among the body's members are György Bakondi, the prime minister's advisor for internal security, and Árpád Kovács, the former head of the State Audit Office and the Fiscal Council.

Strengthening Hungary's security and improving Hungarians' living standards is the government's most important goal, the center added.
