Gov't buying 615,000 laptops for education in next 4 years

The government will buy a total of 615,000 laptops for education over the next four years, State Secretary for Public Education of the Ministry of Human Capacities Zoltán Maruzsa said in Nyíregyháza (240 km northeast of Budapest) yesterday, according to profitline.hu.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Ferenc Kölcsey Grammar School, Maruzsa said that the delivery of about 120,000 laptops to ninth-grade students in public educational institutions began on Tuesday.

The state secretary added that a total of 55,000 laptops would be given to educators and teachers and more than 560,000 IT tools to students in the first grade, which will provide them with access to digital content.
