Volunteer pension fund assets climbed 11% last year
Assets of Hungarian voluntary pension funds saw a rise of approximately 11%, reaching HUF 1.009 trillion last year, Hungarian daily Magyar Hírlap reported today. The paper added that figures cover members of the Stability Fund Association, which accounts for more than 90% of the voluntary pension fund market in Hungary.
Member contributions to the funds came to HUF 61.2 bln for the year, the paper said, adding that employer contributions reached HUF 36.4 bln.
It said that assets of healthcare funds that belong to the association, accounting for about 70% of the market, exceeded HUF 45 bln at the end of last year, up 2% from a year earlier. Member numbers stood at 725,000, while member contributions came to HUF 11 bln and employer contributions reached HUF 28.2 bln.
