Szijjártó: New licenses mean “significant” growth in exports to China

Hungarian exports to China will grow significantly thanks to a license that has Hungary received at the end of a long series of talks, to export frozen pork, goose and duck to China, Foreign Trade State Secretary Péter Szijjártó said on Friday.

Szijjártó informed a press conference that raising economic cooperation with China to a strategic level and intensifying trade ties were basic pillars of the central government’s much-touted policy of opening to Eastern markets.

Hungary seeks to increase exports to China, Szijjártó reaffirmed, and the food industry clearly represents a flagship area in exports.

Economic growth, strengthening middle class and new trends in consumption are expected to boost demand in China for quality food products, according to Szijjártó, and Hungarian product has an advantage in this area due to the longstanding ban on GMOs in the country.
