Szijjártó attends ASEM meeting in Luxembourg

Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó participated at the 12th Asian-Europe Foreign Ministerʼs Meeting (ASEM) in Luxembourg yesterday, where he also met Cambodiaʼs Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hor Namhong, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.

Szijjártó told the news agency that it is in the interest of the Visegrad Four countries that investors from Japan and South Korea target central Europe. The foreign minister added that there is increasing competition in Europe for Asian capital and Asian investors are in search of locations where skilled labor is available, according to MTI.
“Our country is in a good position in this respect because we have strategic partnerships with seven Japanese companies already and South Korean companies employ some 25,000 people in Hungary,” Szijjártó said after talks with the foreign ministers of Japan and Korea.
Following the talks Szijjártó held with Hor Namhong, Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and trade said in a statement that trade between Hungary and Cambodia grew seven-fold in the recent period and there is still significant growth potential, MTI reported.
