Swiss robot buys Hungarian passport, gets arrested

An "automated online shopping bot", set up by Swiss art group !Mediengruppe Bitnik in order to explore the "dark web", managed to buy a Hungarian passport – illegally – along with Ecstasy pills and fake Diesel footwear, before it was arrested by Swiss authorities, CNBC reported.

The robot received $100 in the cryptocurrency bitcoins weekly, in order to randomly purchase one item from Agora, an online marketplace on the dark web where shoppers can buy drugs and other illegal items.

The Swiss art group exhibited everything the bot bought intact and as the Ecstasy was bought for experimental purposes, not for consumption or trafficking, no one was arrested from the group. The drugs were destroyed by the authorities.
