The annual inflation rate in Slovakia eased to 8.2% in September from 8.9% in August, data released by the Bratislava-based Slovak Statistical Office (SÚSR) showed on Friday.
This marked the lowest rate since December 2021, mainly due to a slowdown in prices for most sub-indexes, particularly food & non-alcoholic beverages (11.2% vs 13.5% in August) and housing & utilities (6.5% vs 7.3%).
Also, price growth decreased for furnishings, household equipment & maintenance (7.8% vs 8.8%), recreation & culture (3.3% vs 4.2%), and restaurants & hotels (11.7% vs 12.9%).
On the other hand, prices significantly accelerated for transport (4.9% vs 1.4%). On a monthly basis, the CPI grew 0.3%, after stalling in the previous period.
