Serbia Inflation at a Record High in March

Serbia's consumer prices rose by 16.2% year-on-year in March, after increasing by an annual 16.1% the month before, the Belgrade-based Central Statistical Office (RBS) said on Wednesday.

The biggest price increases in annual terms were observed in the sector of food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 25.4%, followed by housing, water and energy (+23.1%) and restaurant and hotel services (+22.5%).

On a monthly comparison basis, Serbia's consumer price index (CPI) went up by 0.9% in March, after rising by 1.4% in February.
