Romanian Jobless Rate Ticks Down in March

Romania's unemployment rate stood at 5.4% in March, 0.1 percentage points below the rate recorded a month earlier, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) said on Wednesday.
When compared to March 2022, the jobless rate was 0.2 percentage points lower, the Bucharest-based statistics agency said in a monthly report.
The number of unemployed dropped by 6.200 from a month earlier to 453.100, compared to 459,300 in February and 436,600 in March 2022. Adults aged 25 to 74 who were without a job in March represented 76.7% of all unemployed people.
Unemployment among people aged 15 to 24 remained high at 22.2%.
Among genders, the jobless rate for men marginally increased (5.8% vs 5.7% in February), while that for women decreased (5% vs 5.3%).
