Polish Wages up in Q1

The average monthly wage in Poland in the first quarter of this year rose by 14.3% compared with the same quarter of 2022, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said.

The average gross monthly wage in Q1 was PLN 7,124.26 (EUR 1,570), according to the Warsaw-based agency.

The figure was 5.8% up on the final quarter of last year. GUS reported last month that average wages in Poland's corporate sector rose 12.6% in March compared with the same month a year earlier.

Meanwhile, inflation in Poland stood at 14.7% in year-on-year terms in April, a flash estimate released by the statistics agency showed.
