October natural gas price lowest in Budapest

Figures

According to an international price comparison study by the Hungarian Energy and Utilities Regulatory Authority (MEKH), the average price of natural gas was lowest in Budapest in October, and Hungarian households paid the second-best price for electricity among the 29 European capitals surveyed, writes profitline.hu.

MEKH emphasized that the price of electricity and natural gas paid by consumers using the universal service in Hungary is kept fixed by law, so the Hungarian population is protected against price increases in the markets.

According to the agency's international price comparison study, the average price of electricity paid by residential consumers in October was 10.62 euro cents per kilowatt-hour, which is the second most favorable in the list of surveyed capitals.

In Budapest, the average household price of natural gas was 2.87 euro cents, the cheapest among the capitals surveyed.
