N. Macedonia jobless rate at record low in Q2

The unemployment rate in North Macedonia decreased for a second straight quarter to a record low of 15.9% in the second quarter of 2021, compared to 16.7% in the same period of the previous year, data from the Skopje-based State Statistical Office (Makstat) showed on Friday.
The number of unemployed persons decreased by 9.500 to 150.100, while the number of employed increased by 1.800 to 795.300.
Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate ticked down to 56% from 56.5% a year earlier, and the employment rate slowed down to 47.3% from 47.06%. According to the report, the labor force in N. Macedonia numbered 945,412 persons in the Q2 of 2021.
