Majority Concerned by State Pension Dependence
A majority consider it important that they do not have financial difficulties in their old age, but they do not expect carefree living from the state pension, according to a survey by the OTP Pension Fund, writes hrportal.hu.
According to their self-care survey, 27% of active earners consider it "extremely important," and another 57% "very important," not to have to worry about their bills in retirement.
Some 29% of those surveyed are certain that they will not be able to attain security from the state pension, while 42% believe that it is likely to be the case.
Despite the concerns, only one in 10 respondents have investments that they are saving for their retirement.
In 2018, the figure was 20%, although since then, the proportion of those planning to invest for this purpose has increased from 23% to 32%.
