Latvia Inflation Rate up on Month in November

Annual inflation rate in Latvia fell to 21.8% in November, holding close to a record high rate of 22.2% hit in September, figures from the Riga-based Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) showed on Thursday.

Biggest upward contribution came from cost of housing (44.4%), mainly heat energy, solid fuels, natural gas and electricity; food and non-alcoholic beverages (29.5%).

Transport cost rose 18.2%, while prices for miscellaneous goods and services and for restaurant and hotel services increased by 18% and 19.2%, respectively.

Compared to the previous month, the consumer price index (CPI) rose 1.1%, following a 0.8% increase in October.
