Hungary rate of traffic fatalities over EU avg

The number of people killed in road accidents in Hungary reached 47 per million inhabitants in 2020, over the 42 average for the European Union as a whole, but close to levels in the region, state news wire MTI reports, citing data compiled by Eurostat.
The number of road accident fatalities per million inhabitants stood at 45 in Slovakia and 48 in Czechia. The number was 66 in Poland and 85 - the highest rate in the EU - in Romania.
Sweden had the lowest rate of road fatalities: 20 per million inhabitants.
