GDP up nearly 18% y.o.y. in Q2
The gross domestic product of Hungary increased by 17.9% according to raw data and by 17.7% according to seasonally and calendar adjusted and reconciled data in the second quarter of 2021 compared to Q2 2020, according to data by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
Compared to Q1 2021, the performance of the economy grew by 2.7% in the second quarter. The main contributor to the increase was industry, KSH noted.
According to raw data, Hungary's GDP in Q2 2021 surpassed the level recorded in Q2 2019 (before the coronavirus pandemic) by 2.2%.
In the 1st half of 2021, the performance of the economy was 7.6% higher (7.2% higher according to seasonally and calendar adjusted and reconciled data) than the level in the corresponding period of the previous year.
