Czech Retail Sales Shrink in March

Retail trade in the Czech Republic fell by 8.1% year-on-year in March, following an upwardly revised 6.8% fall in the previous month, the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) said in a statement on Friday.
This was the eleventh consecutive month of drop in retail activity, as sales continued to fall for both, food (-8.7% vs -7.7% in February) and non-food products (-9.7% vs -7.1%).
By contrast, sales rebounded for automotive fuel (2.4% vs -2.8%).
On a monthly comparison basis, retail activity fell by 0.7% in March, after a 0.4% drop in the previous month, the Prague-based agency said.
