Croatia Inflation Eases in March

Croatia's consumer prices increased by 10.7% year-on-year in March, and were 0.9% higher month-on-month, the Zagreb-based Croatian Bureau of Statistics (Crostat) said on Monday slightly increasing its first estimates, for a 10.6% and 0.8% increase respectively, announced at the end of last month.

It was the lowest reading since April 2022.

On an annual level, the prices of food and soft drinks rose 17.4% on the year in March, and prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels went up 14.1%.

Measured by the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP), in March compared to the same month last year, the prices of goods and services for personal consumption increased by 10.5% on average, while compared to February they increased by 0.9%.

Croatia, which joined the euro area on January 1, saw annual inflation easing to 12% in February, from 12.7% in January, Crostat said in March.

On month, consumer prices rose by 0.2% in February, and were unchanged in January.
