9,055 new COVID-19 cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 236,144, with 9,055 new cases and 267 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll has increased to 21,262.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 670,776 up from 661,721 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 413,370.

Currently, 11,747 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,467 of whom are on ventilators.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 125,415. Pest County is the second most affected, with 94,371 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (38,052 cases).

So far 4,689,589 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 57,800 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine. 

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 58,069.

According to the website, a total of 2,156,680 people have been vaccinated until today, with 863,195 of them receiving a second dose as well.
