These awards will be held in January.
A former assistant to renowned Hungarian director Béla Tarr, Nemes studied film in New York and wrote and directed three award-winning shorts including “With a Little Patience” and “The Counterpart” prior to writing and directing his latest award-winning film.
Two Hungarian films have won Oscars to date including: “The Fly” directed by Ferenc Rófusz (1981) and “Mephisto” directed by István Szabó (1982).
