Slovenia's consumer confidence indicator grew by 1 percentage point (pp) in March, after rising by the same rate in the preceding month, the Ljubljana-based Statistics Bureau of Slovenia (SURS) said in a report on Thursday.

The consumer confidence index edged up to -33 in March from -34 in the previous month.

The slight improvement in the confidence indicator reflected the less negative expectations on the country's economy (-33 vs -37 in January), and financial situation (-25 vs -27).

Moreover, concerns were lessened over the evolution of prices (39 vs 40) and unemployment (21 vs 23), while prospects on savings also slightly improved (-25 vs -26).

On the other hand, consumers are more pessimistic about making large purchases at the present (-45 vs -44) and for the coming 12 months (-42 vs -39).
