Slovak Economy Q2 Growth Faster Than Forecasted

Slovakia's economy expanded 1.5% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2023, surpassing market forecasts and the previous quarter's growth rate of 1%, a preliminary estimate from the Bratislava-based Slovak Statistical Office (SÚSR) showed on Tuesday.
It marked the tenth consecutive quarter of economic growth, supported by increased investments and a significant surplus in foreign trade.
On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the gross domestic product (GDP) rose 0.4%, following a 0.3% expansion in the previous three-month period.
