GKI’s business confidence index edged down to -8.8 points in May from -8.5 in April.
Around 11% of businesses said they planned to make new hires in the next three months, while 10% expected to cut headcount, according to the survey.
GKI’s consumer confidence index rose to -0.9 points in May from -17.0 in the previous month.
The combined gauge of consumer and business confidence climbed to -6.7 points in May from -10.7 in April.
