Index wrote in their article of September 27, that by manipulating data, MTVA, which oversees public radio and TV channels, falsely reported that 19% of the Hungarian population was watching one of their shows, while only 300,000 people actually watched it. Index noted that the viewership of 1.7 million was calculated by MTVA by adding together all the viewers who were watching all television channels operated by MTVA on that particular day.
According to hvg.hu, MTVA sued the news portal over their article, lost the trial, then appealed and lost in the second instance too.
