Despite the fact that avoiding fires and storm damage was deemed particularly important for respondents, and they try to reduce the risks by properly closing windows and regularly maintaining the electrical network, only 71% of them have home insurance, the survey data showed. One in four people have had personal experience of damage to their home, 33% have had indirect experience, while 42% have no experience.
"Often just a little attention can be enough to avoid damage. As a leading home insurer, Aegon considers it important to make everyday life safer and less stressful. That's why we have launched an educational campaign to reduce such stressful situations, starring Alexandra Nagy, working through the most typical situations. Technology can also help: a lot of stress related to the FOLO (Fear of Leaving On) phenomenon can be reduced through technological innovations such as disconnecting electronic devices with wi-fi controlled smart sockets, or installing remote locking electric door locks and entry systems," said Tamás Szombat, deputy CEO of Aegon Biztosító, in response to the research data.
Aegon's educational films were produced in cooperation with the National Crime Prevention Council of the National Police Headquarters.

The humorous educational short films, which present typical situations of the FOLO phenomenon, were made with the participation of actress and TV presenter Alexandra Nagy, who has experienced similar situations herself.
"The situations in the film can be familiar to everyone, sometimes they happen to me too, so I was able to experience the tension of the main character perfectly! I can hardly leave the house without wondering if I've locked the door, unplugged the iron. The shooting went very smoothly, as the team was great and the educational message of the films was well defined. I am happy to be part of this important initiative." – said Nagy.
