Lithuanian inflation weakens for fourth month in April
Lithuania’s consumer price index rose 1.2% year-on-year in April, slower than the 1.5% gain seen in March, latest data from the Department of Statistics in Vilnius showed Thursday. The annual growth in prices reflected a 1.2% gain in food and non-alcoholic beverages prices and a 2.3% rise in prices of clothing and footwear. Housing costs and utility prices also moved up 1.5% from a year earlier. Meanwhile, there was a 0.9% yr/yr decrease in transportation costs. On a monthly basis, the consumer price index moved up a seasonally adjusted 0.3%, the statistics agency said.
