KSH: Guest nights in Hungary up 6.7% in September
The number of nights spent by international and domestic tourists in Hungary in September saw a year-on-year increase of 7.3% and 5.8%, respectively, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported today in a first release of data.
Guest turnover of accommodation establishments, measured in tourism nights, increased by an overall 6.7%, while the gross revenue of accommodation establishments – at current prices – rose by 14%, KSH reported.
In a month-on-month comparison the number of domestic tourist arrivals increased by 8.8% and that of domestic tourism nights by 5.8%, while guest turnover measured on the basis of domestic tourism nights increased in six regions but decreased in the tourist regions of Lake Tisza, Lake Balaton and Central Transdanubia, KSH reported.
Room occupancy in hotels rose by 4.4 percentage points to 61%, according to KSH. The number of international tourist arrivals increased by 6.0% and the number of international tourism nights by 7.3%, while the number of international tourism nights rose in eight of the nine tourism regions and decreased in Southern Transdanubia.
