Kopint-Tárki 2012 GDP-growth projection remains unchanged at 0.3%

Economic-research company Kopint-Tárki's fresh economic report projects GDP growth of 0.3% in Hungary this year, unchanged from the figure in the company's report published in December, Kopint-Tárki announced on Thursday.

Kopint-Tárki's new report projects inflation of 5.5% in Hungary in 2012, up from 4.6% in the December report.

The company expects GDP growth of 1.5% in 2013.

The Government projects GDP growth of 0.5% and inflation of 4.2% this year.

Kopint Tárki expects Hungary's ESA government deficit to be 2.9% of GDP both this year and next year.

The company expects retail consumption to decline 1.2% in 2012 and public consumption to fall 2.0% and investments to fall 5.0% this year.

Kopint-Tárki projects a 6% rise in exports and a 4.3% rise in imports in 2012

The company expects the National Bank of Hungary's base rate to be 6% at end of this year, compared to the current rate of 7%.

Kopint Tárki projects an average forint-euro exchange rate of 290 this year, compared to 279 last year.
