IMF/EU talks could resume in January, Varga said
There are no formal negotiations between Hungary and the European Union-International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegates, only discussions, Mihály Varga, minister without portfolio responsible for negotiations said on a business lunch organized by the Joint Venture Association (JVSZ) on Thursday.
Official negotiations could be resumed in January, after the IMF/EU officers evaluate the 2013 budget that is due to be accepted by the Parliament in two weeks.
Coordinating discussions don't cease to follow up, the next round will also be held in January as the IMF delegation will visit Hungary due to the last IMF agreement's monitoring process, Varga added.
The experts of IMF acknowledge the government's steps to diminish the budget deficit, however, are skeptical about growth outlook, the leader of Hungarian negotiators pointed out.
