Hungary, South Korea wind up knowledge exchange program

Int’l Relations

Hungary and South Korea have brought a three-year program that fostered an exchange of ideas and experiences in the area of economy to a close, Hungary’s National Economy Ministry announced yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

The knowledge exchange program showed the importance of state incentives for R&D in emerging technologies for both countries, said deputy state secretary for international relations Antal Nikoletti.

South Korea is a good example of how to boost exports through technical developments, he added.

He noted the recent launch of Hungaryʼs Irinyi re-industrialisation strategy and the importance of creating knowledge-based production.

South Korea has invested about $2.2 billion in Hungary. Thirty big Korean companies operate in Hungary, employing some 23,000 people.
