Hungary c/a surplus reaches EUR 1.348 bln in Q1

Hungaryʼs current account surplus reached EUR 1.348 billion in the first quarter of 2018, state news agency MTI has calculated based on monthly preliminary data released by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on Tuesday.  

The surplus of goods and services reached EUR 2.312 bln.

The capital account stood at EUR 1.292 bln, and included EUR 1.301 bln of capital transfers.

Hungaryʼs net external financing capacity - the combined surpluses of the current and capital accounts - came to EUR 2.640 bln for the period. 

The MNB will publish first-quarter balance of payments data on June 21.
