The Hungarian Leasing Association (HLA) has joined Leaseurope, the European Federation of Leasing Company Associations, the domestic body announced today, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

With this step, the HLA and its members can establish closer cooperation with leasing companies and associations in other countries, gaining more insight into market trends, the HLA said.

Leaseurope was founded in 1972. Since April 2006 it acts as an umbrella body representing both the leasing and automotive rental industries in Europe, and is composed of 47 member associations in 34 countries.

Outlays of members of the HLA to small and medium-sized enterprises rose 4% to HUF 235 bln in the first half of 2016.

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.

We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
