Hungarian economy adds 737,000 jobs in 2010-2018

A little more than 737,000 jobs were added to the Hungarian economy between 2010 and 2018, according to a summary of data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH), cited by Hungarian news agency MTI.
About 38% of those jobs were filled by women, the data show.
About 55,000 of the jobs created in 2010-2018 were abroad, but the KSH noted that the acceleration in the number of Hungarians taking foreign positions that started in the first half of the 2010s came to a halt in 2017.
Over 73,000 of the added jobs were in government-fostered public work programs, although the overall number of fostered workers fell nearly a quarter in 2017-2018 as the government scaled back such schemes with the aim of placing participants in unfilled positions on the primary labor market.
The average number of employed Hungarians stood at 4,469,500 in 2018, KSH data show.
