Hungary Trade Surplus at EUR 708 mln in August

Hungary's external trade in goods surplus amounted to EUR 708 million in August 2023, according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

The balance improved by EUR 2.3 billion year-on-year.

Compared to August 2022, the value of exports declined by 1.5%, and that of imports was 19% lower in EUR terms.  The value of exports amounted to EUR 11.3 bln, and that of imports to EUR 10.6 bln.

The share of the EU Member States was 77% in exports and 70% in imports.

Compared to the previous month (July 2023), the level of exports increased by 0.5%, and that of imports lessened by 0.9%.
