The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) has signed a cooperation agreement with China's National Financial Regulatory Administration (NFRA) on joint oversight activities, Hungary's central bank and financial market regulator said in a release on its website.

The agreement was signed by MNB deputy governor Csaba Kandrács and NFRA Vice Minister Zhou Liang in Beijing.

The cooperation agreement may serve as the basis for information-sharing, mutual assistance and effective cooperation in the areas of financial oversight and consumer protection, as well as an exchange of information in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.

Kandrács also participated at a panel discussion at the China Development Forum while visiting China.

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.

We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
