HUF 30 tln sent through instant payment

Hungarians have transferred HUF 30 trillion using the instant payment system rolled out by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) and clearing house GIRO a year ago, the central bank said on its website yesterday.

The number of transactions made with the system stands close to 150 million, the MNB said. It added that 99% of those transfers were completed within five seconds and 96% within two seconds.

The average number of transactions made using the system on workdays averages 400,000.
