Bulgaria's non-govt deposit growth speeds up in Aug

The deposits of Bulgaria's non-government sector increased by 12% year-on-year in August, reaching BGN 99.5 billion (EUR 50.9 billion), after growing by an annual 11.8% in July, the central bank said on Thursday.

The deposits of households increased by 10.9% annually in August, reaching BGN 64 billion.

Loans to Bulgaria's non-government sector meanwhile increased by 7.5% year-on-year in August, reaching BGN 68.3 billion (EUR 34.9 billion), following an annual rise of 7.2% in July.

Loans to households rose by an annual 11.5% to BGN 27.8 billion at the end of August.
