Hungarian agribusiness Sugar Holding is building a HUF 7.4 billion greenhouse heated by geothermal energy, managing director László Miszori told MTI.

Sugar Holding won a HUF 1.8 billion state grant for the investment in Tura, near Budapest, Miszori said.

Construction will start next week and the greenhouse and attached dehydrator will be the length of twelve football pitches when completed in the middle of 2012. Sugar Holding will grow tomatoes in the greenhouse

The greenhouse and the attached processing plant, which is expected to generate annual revenue of HUF 2.7 billion, could be a model for similar investments, Miszori said. It also will generate several hundreds of job, he said.
