If the permits and the consent of the municipal government of Szarvas are obtained, and the construction starts as planned, it will be completed by net spring. The factory will produce bio gas out of animal carcasses, and run the 2.8-megawatt power plant by gas to provide cheaper electricity and hot water for the turkey processing site. Once in operation, the facility could use all animal side products created in the region, and also increase Gallicoop’s competitiveness, according to István Erdélyi CEO. The construction will be co-realized with a German partner. Gallicoop presently employs 900 workers. In order to adopt the plans, the municipal government of Szarvas will have to categorize the plot as industrial area. (Napi Gazdaság)
