Alstom will supply condensers, cooling towers, water exchange equipment and pipeline systems. Alstom’s new cooling solution will boost the capacity of two of the plant’s 215MW blocks to 230-246MW, Mátra CEO József Valaska said. The project, to be completed by the end of 2007, will make the plant more flexible and reduce its carbon emissions, Valaska said. Mátra’s orders account for about a quarter of Alstom’s annual €30 million-40 million of business in Hungary, Alstom Power Hungária CEO Vilmos Wolff said.
