Emissions in the first quarter of 2023 decreased by 2.9% in the European Union. They fell the most in Bulgaria, dropping by 15.2%.
Emissions grew in six member states, with the highest increase, a 9.1% rise, registered in Ireland.
In a regional comparison, greenhouse gas emissions fell 9.5% in Slovenia, slipped 6.6% in Czechia, decreased by 5.1% in Poland, were down 4.6% in Romania but rose 1.9% in Slovakia.
