Second-degree restrictions are in force in 151 and third-degree restrictions in a further 13 towns and cities.
Meanwhile, the Economy and Energy Affairs Ministry reported that peak load on Hungary’s electricity grid reached 6,800 MW on Tuesday, below the planned total of 7,100 MW.
The ministry expects Wednesday’s load to reach 6,900 MW, adding that the government’s push for major industrial consumers to conserve energy was showing tangible results.
The Paks nuclear power plant is currently producing 230 MW of electricity, rather than 2,000 MW, the ministry added.
