E.ON Hungária Group will build and operate a 43 MW solar park for BMW Group Plant Debrecen under a contract signed on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

BMW Manufacturing Hungary head Hans-Peter Kemser said the solar park, with 320,000 sqm of solar panels, would be BMW Group's biggest. The solar park will be completed by November 2025, in time for the start of production at the plant the German car maker is building in Debrecen, he added.

E.ON Hungária Group deputy-CEO Zsolt Jamniczky called the development a "milestone" for the company.

The solar park will generate enough electricity to power 20,000 homes.
