History

The European Commission has received the Hungarian government's proposals for talks on financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund and the European Union, the head of the EC's Hungarian representative said on Thursday.

Tamás Szűcs said the Commission will decide after studying the proposal "whether and when" the next round of talks will take place.

The government sent its letter to the EC and the IMF on Wednesday morning, presenting an alternative proposal for measures in order to secure a deal.
